Tuface Idibia and other prominent singers to lead global hand washing day commemoration in his home state of Benue.

General Manager, Benue State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency, Dr. James Aper, disclosed this to Punch in an interview in Makurdi, the state capital.

According to him, the commemoration will take place in Logo Local Government Area of the state on October 22, which will serve as ingredient for the continues promotion of hygiene in communities across the state.

Aper said, “We are bringing Tuface Idibia. He has made two good songs on promoting hand washing, and several other singers will also be there. We want to take this message to the rural communities where the impact will be more felt from our own perspective.”

He added that schoolchildren will be actively involved in the campaign in order to sustain global hand washing programme.

He explained that the agency has been able to sensitize over 2,300 communities in the state as a way of educating and promoting personal hygiene.

He further explained that the agency has also provided several hand pumps and motorised boreholes in different communities across the state as part of the campaign.
