This is the dilemma that two Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members are allegedly facing, according to Punch.

The two aspirants involved in this matter are Abdul-Jhalil Tafawa-Balewa (son of Nigeria’s First Republic Prime Minister, the late Abubakar Tafawa-Balewa) and Akasoba Duke-Abiola (one of the widows of the late MKO Abiola).

Tafawa-Balewa is said to have paid the stipulated N20 million as nomination fee and another N2 million for the “expression of interest” form into PDP’s Zenith bank account, with number 1012436478.

Abiola paid only N2 million for the expression of interest, as the nomination fee is free for PDP women.

According to reports, Tafawa-Balewa visited the party’s national secretariat on Tuesday to collect the forms, and was told that the forms are not ready. He was said to be anxious because the forms will stop being sold by tomorrow.

Likewise, Abiola complained that PDP officials had issued her a receipt for the form, but are yet to give her the actual form.

“I have the receipt from the party after paying my money. But they said they printed only one presidential nomination form, even though the guidelines do not say that.

The NOS and the National Chairman said the party printed only one form. I asked that they should give the one they printed to me since I was there. They laughed and said whether I didn’t know who they printed it for. This is a fraud,” she said.

Sources say the aspirants were not given the form because the party has endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan as the sole presidential candidate
