Kim K lashes out at Adrienne Bailon for saying association with her family ruined her career

In an interview with Latina magazine, singer, reality star & Rob Kardashian's ex-girlfriend Adrienne Bailon said one of the things that affected her career was appearing on the Kardashian reality show.
"To be stuck with that Kardashian label, that was so hurtful to me and to my career. I probably realized that too late – not that it would've affected my decisions in terms of who I dated, but it would've affected my decision to appear on the show." she said
Talking about Rob, who was her first love, Adrienne said people still give a hard time for hurting him
‘It's common knowledge that he cheated on me. It always bothered me that people were like, “Pero, why couldn’t you forgive him?" Why are women always the ones who have to forgive? If you cheated on a man, he would be like, “You're disgusting, and I want nothing to do with you.” But women, we're supposed to be like, “He messed up. He made a mistake.”. In my situation, it wasn't like, “Oh my God! I made a mistake!”’ she admitted. ‘He strategically planned things out so that he could cheat on me, and that to me was so disloyal.’
Immediately the interview was made available online, Kim K took to twitter to slam her...continue..

Ebola victim Patrick Sawyer was planning visit to US says wife

THE widow of a Liberian man who died of Ebola in Nigeria said that he had been planning to visit his daughters in America in a few weeks’ time — underlining fears that the virus could be spread beyond west Africa by passengers on commercial flights.
Patrick Sawyer, a government official in Liberia, collapsed in Lagos and died a few days later after flying into the city two weeks ago. Mr Sawyer had flown from Monrovia to Ghana, and then changed planes in Togo for the final leg to Lagos. Health officials in Nigeria closed and quarantined the hospital where he was treated, and tested nurses and flight attendants, but have not reported any positive results.
He was vomiting during at least one of the flights, and although he was quarantined on arrival in Lagos, his fellow passengers were told of Ebola’s symptoms and allowed to continue their journeys.
“It’s a global problem, because Patrick could have easily come home with Ebola,” said his widow, Decontee Sawyer, in an interview with a television station in Minnesota, where she lives.
She said that he had been due back in Minnesota next month.
Two Americans, Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol, who have been working at a charity clinic in Liberia, also have the disease.
Dr Brantly’s wife, Amber, and their two children, aged 3 and 5, had travelled back to America before he received his diagnosis. They are staying with relatives in Texas, and while they are not in quarantine they are alert to signs of infection.

Victim: Mr Sawyer, with one of his children, died from Ebola in Nigeria
Doctors fear Ebola victim Patrick Sawyer may have sparked a worldwide spread of the killer disease after being allowed on two flights while infected.
And tonight a desperate race was on to find dozens of passengers who flew on the same jets as the 40-year-old American.
British doctors and border officials have been warned to be on the lookout for people in the UK showing signs of the disease.
Mr Sawyer was allowed to board an ASKY Airlines flight in Liberia, where Ebola is rife, despite vomiting and suffering from diarrhoea. His sister was recently killed by the virus.
He had a stopover in Ghana then changed planes in Togo and flew to the international travel hub of Lagos in Nigeria. The dad-of-three died five days after arriving in the city.
Lancaster University virologist Derek Gatherer said passengers, crew and airport ground staff who came into contact with Mr Sawyer could be in “pretty serious danger”. Ebola is fatal in 90% of cases.
Doctors have identified 59 people who were near him and have tested 20. But they are struggling to find the others, who could have flown to anywhere in the world from Lagos.
Ebola
Killer: The virus
There were today questions over how Liberian government worker Mr Sawyer was let on flights while clearly showing symptoms of Ebola – which has killed 672 people in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone since it broke out in February.
Experts from Public Health England have met UK Border Agency officials to make sure staff are aware of the signs to look for in Ebola sufferers.
PHE has also used its national medical alert system to advise all UK doctors to “remain vigilant for unexplained illness in those who have visited the affected area”.
Symptoms include vomiting and diarrhoea, fever, weakness, headache and sore throat.
Those struck down can also suffer internal and external bleeding. The virus is spread through human contact. There is no cure.

Landlady’s children cut tenant’s private part

A young man identified as Yinka Offehin is currently battling for his life at a private hospital in Lagos after the children of his landlady, named Damilola Olaleye & Solomon Olowogbemi, allegedly attacked him cutting off his scrotum, Punch reports

The alleged attack took place at Popoola Street, off Abaranje Road in the Ikotun area of Lagos and was said to have happened as Offehun was sleeping with his family in his room. The tenant was said to have attacked by the landlady's children over a disagreement he had with their mother, who'd asked him to vacate her compound immediately
Narrating what led to the unfortunate incident, Yinka's wife, Bisi Offehin said...continue...

On Thursday morning, around 3am, while we were sleeping, we heard loud bangs on our door. We initially thought they were armed robbers because the house beside ours had recently been robbed. When they entered, we saw they were children of our landlady. They began destroying our electronics and other property. There were two of them. One held a knife in his hand. They took N800, 000. They descended on my husband and he also fought back. In that confusion, my husband shouted and we saw that one of the attackers had cut Yinka’s scrotum. I can’t say what they used to cut off my husband’s scrotum.”
She said even in so much pain, her husband was able to hold on to one of his attackers till dawn, while the other fled the scene.
Offehin, while narrating what led to the attack, said;
“I was asked to leave the house immediately, but after the intervention of the traditional ruler of the community, I was asked to leave by the end of August. But that decision did not go down well with the children of my landlady and they continued to make trouble with me. I was already planning to leave their house and had even contacted an agent when they attacked me without any provocation. I want the government to fight for me,” he said.
Doctors at the hospital where he is being treated say they have stitched the scrotum but that the wound would take up to three months to heal. Family sources say they have spent over N60,000 for his treatment and that they have been told by doctors that if the wound does not heal, he might have to undergo a surgery.
When contacted, father of the suspects who is a pastor asked that the matter be left for God to decide as both suspects are now in police cell
"I am sorry; I can’t speak with you on this matter. You know the matter is already with the police and those they accused of committing the offence are in the police cell. So, what do you want me to say? I was told they are taking the matter to court. Let’s leave everything to God.” he said
The Lagos state Police spokeswoman who confirmed the incident said both suspects are currently in police custody
"It was around 3am, while the victim was sleeping in his room, that one Solomon Olowogbemi and Damilola Olayeye, the children of his landlady, came in and started fighting with him. In the process, they inflicted injury on him with an unknown object. The skin of his scrotum was partly cut off, thereby exposing one of his testicles. The two suspects have been arrested and detained and the victim taken to a hospital.” she said

Children and Donkeys Labouring Underground in Coal Mine in Punjab Province, Pakistan

Workers at this mine in Choa Saidanshah in Pakistan's Punjab province dig coal with pick axes, break it up and load it onto donkeys to be transported to the surface.
Employed by private contractors, a team of four workers can dig about a ton of coal a day, for which they earn around six pounds to be split between them.

The coal mine is in the heart of Punjab, Pakistan's wealthiest and most populous province, but the labourers mostly come from the poorer neighbouring region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Although Pakistan has introduced legislation to deal with child labour, the problem is deeply entrenched in society. Nearly 60% of Pakistan's working children are in Punjab province. Children often inherit huge, unpayable debts and are forced to work as bonded labourers. Children working in mines can be vulnerable to dangers such as sexual abuse by older miners.
The donkeys make around 20 trips per day carrying sacks weighing about 20kg each. The work is dangerous with the constant risk of cave-ins. The miners say they do what they can to care for the animals, with their limited resources, but the difficult conditions mean the donkeys' life expectancy is 12-13 years (compared with 30 to 50 years in more prosperous countries).

Kerry Washington Criticises Beyonce For Not Doing Enough To Empower Young Girls

Kerry Washington & Beyonce
Kerry Washington thinks Beyonce is exploiting her marriage and sending the wrong message to young fans(Getty)
Beyonce has recently come under criticism for sending mixed messages to her fans and now TV star Kerry Washington is reportedly far from impressed with the singer, calling for her to "stop shaking her booty."
The Scandal actress finds the way Queen Bey sings about her marital troubles "cheesy" at best and a "danger" to her young fans at worst, and has privately ripped the singer for not doing enough to empower young African American girls.
According to a report published by Dish Nation, the 37-year-old star of the hit ABC show, who is also a political activist and outspoken feminist, "hates how Beyonce relies on her body and sexual inneundo to sell records".
"Kerry thinks Beyonce should spend less time shaking her booty and more time pushing other agendas, like the value of education and healthy eating, as well as promoting book reading", an insider told the online publication.
New mum Kerry expressed her views about the Grammy-winning Drunk in Love singer after actress and comedian Lily Tomlin recently responded to a question about whether she thinks Beyonce is a feminist by saying, "She is a pretty popular woman and she's married to a very powerful man, but she's still selling sex to teenyboppers."
The source added, "Kerry wholeheartedly agrees with Lily. She also thinks the way Beyonce is revelling in rumours about her private life is, at best, cheesy, and, at worst, dangerous."
The Single Ladies hit-maker hasn't denied rampant rumours that husband Jay Z cheated on her but has instead appeared to use the gossip for self-promotion.
During her On the Run tour concert she even went as far as changing the lyrics of her song Resentment, which is about a women whose husband is unfaithful.
The songstress swapped "Been riding with you for six years," to "Been riding with you for 12 years" - coincidentally the length of time she's been with Jay Z, sparking speculation she was alluding to her own marriage.

However, whenever the rumours spill out of control she posts picture-perfect family shots on her Instagram and Tumblr accounts.
"Beyonce's cat and mouse game with her fans reeks of desperation, far from the fierce independent persona she gives off in her songs", said the source.
"To Kerry, it seems like Beyonce is sending a message to young women that standing by your man, even if he cheats on you, is perfectly acceptable.
"While Kerry is happy to attend red carpet events and give interviews to publicise her career she's happy to keep her private life under wraps and let her talent do the talking. Kerry wishes Beyonce would do the same."

Police explains rise in female suicide bombings in Nigeria

The Nigeria Police Force spokesperson Frank Mba has given an insight into the recent rise of female suicide bombers in Nigeria.

Addressing newsmen at the National Information Center yesterday, Mr Mba said Boko Haram men now use women because they raise fewer suspicions.
"If you have been following the trends of terrorism worldwide, you will understand that use of female suicide bombers is actually not totally new. It is actually a new trend in our own part of the world. The reasons why established international terrorist organizations go for female suicide bombers is clear. The major reason is that women raise fewer suspicions, particularly with security layers, and so they take advantage of the fact that women raise fewer suspicion to try to indoctrinate and recruit female suicide bombers. The suspicion even becomes much lesser if the woman in question is a minor and that explains why. In addition to that is the fact that by rules of engagement that we are cultured to, male security operatives are not allowed to frisk or search females but we are equally developing counter terrorism strategies to deal with that.” he said
He disclosed that more female police officers will now be stationed on roads and other places where stop-and-search exercises are being carried out.
"Nigerians should prepare to see more female police officers, more female bomb disposal experts, more female DSS operatives, more female soldiers actually in combat operations and carrying out stop-and-search,” he said

Beyonce shuts down latest divorce rumors

If Beyonce had tried to defend her husband when her sister attacked him in that elevator, I don't think she would be constantly defending her marriage now. Yesterday rumors spread that Beyonce was divorcing Jay Z after she was allegedly spotted apartment hunting without him.

As the rumors spread yesterday Beyonce calmly posted a picture on Instagram of Jay Z and Blue Ivy captioning the photo, "My favorite hue is Jay Z Blue,', in an effort to rubbish the reports.

Jay Z and Beyonce also have 84 million reasons they have to stay together…

Page Six is reporting that Jay Z and Beyonce are raking in $4million a night on the "On the Run Tour', independent of ticket sales, totaling a staggering $84million for them to share. Ticket sales for the 21 stop tour are expected to exceed $100 million.
