Thank God it’s Monday! Why you must succeed at the level you were designed to - By Chinedu Diego

Chinedu Adaakiti, Thank God it’s Monday!

After attaining some degree of success, it’s sometimes easier to stay at that level than to strive for the level we were actually designed for! You know the scenarios- you are in top management in your organization, top student in your class, generally looked up to as the ‘big dog’. You’ve probably got some of the trappings of success: Cars, houses, some of the things you dreamed of and of course, the envy of friends and family.

But, deep in your heart you know you haven’t scratched the surface of what you could ACTUALLY do. Yes, others are impressed, but not you! You could be MD, and still not have touched the surface of your actual design! If you let others opinions be the barometer for your achievements, you may be deceived into SETTLING for much less than you should! You must realize that everyone is gifted at different levels some have 5, 2 or 1 talent (s)! Continue

So if you are a 5 star talent amongst two stars operating at a 3 star level, the people around you would be GREATLY IMPRESSED! You are doing more than their designed capacity but significantly less than yours. They’ll be proud of you, impressed even, but not you, indeed if you are not careful, you’ll be massively depressed (yes that’s why you are so unhappy!)

Your success isn’t just about you! It’s concerned with so much more! Imagine if Bill Gates had being satisfied with being chairman of Microsoft? Oprah had remained a newscaster? T.D Jakes had remained in West Virginia or Dangote had been satisfied with just owning a business? I’m sure you’ll agree that they would all have attained some level of success, but not to the size of their gifts!

They would have robbed the world of so much! Imagine all those girls in South Africa, who’d probably have ended up pregnant on the streets, nobodies but for Oprah’s school. What about the millions who would have died of malaria, without Bill Gates intervention. How about the jobs Dangote’s expansion has created for many households? I know how much T.D Jakes has influenced my family and how much happier we are for listening to him!

What’s the world missing because you are too afraid, or you are simply allowing the fact that others are impressed with your current success deter you from? Remember, peoples’ lives are connected to yours; it’s not just about you!!

This week’s task:
Take time to ask yourself if you are attaining at the level of your design

Search your heart for areas where you’ve SETTLED

Start something this week that will EXPAND your thinking-read a book, make a friend in a different class, take a drive in different environment!
