Three people are said to have died and 2 others have been
left severely injured after an attack by Fulani herdsmen on 2 villages in
Kaduna.
One of the deceased is a 70-year-old man said to be the
father of a former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Emmanuel
Maisango.
The attack occurred at about 3am yesterday and was centred
on Sabon-Agunu and Gora in the Kachia Local Government Area of the state.
Leadership reports:
Sources told LEADERSHIP FRIDAY that the gunmen stormed
two communities with sophisticated weapons, burning scores of houses.
A resident of Agunu Village, who gave his name as
Vincent, said “The Fulani marauders attacked our village, Sabon Agunu, today,
at about 3am, macheted and burnt Maisango’s father to ashes. Another man,
Maisango’s step-mother and a young boy are currently in critical condition from
wounds sustained in the attacks,” he said.
The council man confirmed that three people were killed
and burnt to ashes, including the father of a former law-maker.
“The attack was carried out by Fulani men who also reside
within the local government. We are working to unravel the perpetrators.”
