How Gombe Government House was bombed.

Abdullahi Jalo, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the explosion heard in front of the Gombe State Government House as “an accidental discharge” by policemen on guard duty.

Initial reports indicate that the loud explosion targeted a police armored personnel carrier stationed just in front of the building which serves as the official residence of Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo.
Jao confirmed the explosion to the Punch saying, “It is true that there was some kind of explosion in an armoured car near the House of the Governor of Gombe State. It was not a bomb attack.
“There was an accidental discharge, I cannot confirm casualties yet but I understand there were some.”
Jalo, an indigene of the state has close ties to the governor.
Reports from Gombe indicate that there was widespread panic around the area with security personnel quickly mobilised to cordon off the area.
