Family members, friends and aides this morning joined President Goodluck Jonathan to celebrate his 57th birthday.
The birthday was marked with a short Holy Communion service inside the President’s official residence at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The service was officiated by his Chaplain, Ven. Obioma Onwuzurumba. More photos after the cut...
Jonathan, joined by his wife, Patience, and his mother, Eunice later proceeded to cut his birthday cakes.
In short remarks after cutting the cakes, Jonathan urged Nigerians to continue to join hands with him to move the nation forward.
“Though we face challenges, we will surely get over them. Let us live together, work hard together and pray together,” he said.
In a short exhortation, Onwuzurumba noted that when God’s hand is on a man, there is nothing opposition can do.
“There will always be opposition. Once God has chosen a man, He will protect him. God who has called you from a remote tribe will give you valiant men, whose hearts are right with God to work with you,” he said.Special prayers were made for the President, his wife, family members and the nation.
