NCAA DG drives through runway to catch Abuja-bound flight

ncaa
There was a scene at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, on Monday when a car conveying the Acting Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Benedict Adeyileka, sped off on the runway to prevent an Arik Air flight leaving for Abuja from flying.

According to Dailypost  the vehicle illegally sped off on the runway on the orders of the Acting DG so as to stop the flight from leaving because he was supposed to be on board the flight but couldn’t make it there when other passengers were boarding. Continue...
A passenger on board the Arik Air flight who was visibly displeased with the action of the Acting DG narrated that passengers were made to wait for some hours behind normal schedule before they could board the plane because they were waiting for “the VIP”.
The source said that notwithstanding the delay and inconvenience he caused them, the Acting DG a few minutes after he came on board decided not to continue with the planned journey, thereby subjecting passengers to another round of waiting to allow him disembark.
Efforts made by this newspaper to get the views of the Acting DG on what transpired were not successful as at press time.
