According to a report in a Canadian medical journal, a woman who was sick and was being treated in a Canadian hospital got infected with the green blow fly that left many maggots in her eyes and nose..

"During the period, an adult fly (a green blow fly or a green bottle fly) was seen in the intensive care unit. The patient was in a windowless private room that had an open door. The intensive care unit had no windows to the outdoors; thus, it was assumed that the fly had entered the intensive care unit from another part of the hospital. The fly must have left the eggs in her nose and eyelid."

Doctors removed 120 maggots from her eyes and nose. This happened a long time ago - in 2007 - but the images were recently released. If you have the stomach to look at it, see more pic after the cut....

Arnella Kamanzi, the 18-month-old baby who was tortured by a maid early this month was yesterday admitted at the pediatric section in Mulago Hospital for further medical examinations. 

"The baby was brought here for examinations and a number of tests will be done to establish whether she is in good health," confirmed a source at the national referral hospital.

Jolly Tumuhiirwe, the maid who is the main actress in the 'horror movie' has been charged with attempted murder and she is due to appear in court on Dec. 08, 2014.

Speaking from Luzira prison, Jolly Tumuhiirwe has asked the 'world' to forgive her for what she did..she said;

Residents flee their villages after receiving letter from Boko Haram

Residents of Kukawa and Gubio villages in Borno state have fled their villages after they reportedly received a letter from Boko Haram informing them of an impending attack on their communities.

A resident of the village, Modu Kaka who spoke with Sahara Reporters, said immediately they received the letter, thousands of residents fled.

"They had attacked other local government areas around us. So when we received threat letters from Boko Haram that they would attack us soon, we all had to flee for our lives. We heard what happened to people in Damasak where a similar threat was made and carried by Boko Haram.”He said........

Update: Tortured Ugandan baby doing OK, maid faces 15 years in prison

The Ugandan baby who was viciously assaulted by a maid in a video that went viral last week has recovered from her injuries and is back in the loving arms of her parents.
According to Ugandan NTV report, the house-help, 22year old Jolly Tumuhirwe faces up to 15 years in jail for attempted murder. The lady appeared at Nakawa Magistrates Court in Uganda on Nov. 20th after police concluded their investigations. The police say she was charged under the Anti-torture Act

The court didn't grant her bail, so Jolly is currently remanded at Luzira prison in Uganda. The maid had only worked with the family for one month before she was filmed brutally assaulting the baby. And yes, the baby's father Erick Kimanzi, admitted to beating the maid after watching the video.

A Federal High court sitting in Abuja has freed Aminu Oguche, the suspected mastermind of the Nyanya bomb blast which killed about 70 people in April.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the court in it's ruling, dismissed the two counts terrorism charges brought against him and freed him based on lack of diligent prosecution by the state.

Aminu escaped to Sudan after allegedly coordinating the attack. He was apprehend and repatriated to Nigeria in July.more photos of Aminu Oguche in court today after the cut.....

Boko Haram members disguised as traders attack market in Borno, scores killed

Many market men and women are feared dead after Boko Haram militants disguised as traders attacked a market in Damasak town in the Mobar Local government area of Borno state this morning.

According to reports, the sect members arrived the fishing and farming community around 11am, moved into the middle of the market and opened fire on unsuspecting buyers and sellers....

FG bans the use of phones in Nigerian prisons

Following the recent jailbreak attempt in some Nigerian prisons in recent times, the Federal govt today banned the use of phones by both prisoners and prison officials within the prison premises.

The ban was pronounced by Minister of Interior Affairs, Abba Moro while speaking with some senior prison officials in Abuja.

"I have visited some prisons in other countries as the Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; Nobody, no matter how highly placed you are, you don’t come to prison with your phones, not even the minister of Interior as the supervising minister over the prisons. So, why are you an exception?. Henceforth, no matter who you are including myself, nobody goes into prison with telephones."

And so, as you are going from here, create a meeting platform where all the officers that work in the prisons as they walk into prisons, they submit their phones and collect them when they close.”

 The Minister also directed that all the phones on all inmates should be confiscated withing 30 days.

National Assembly fracas: Sambo summons IG

  Vice President Namadi Sambo on Friday summoned the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Suleiman Abba, to the Presidential Villa, Abuja over the Thursday invasion of the National Assembly by policemen.

A fracas broke out at the National Assembly while security operatives were preventing the Speaker, Aminu Tambuwal, and some of his loyalists from entering the premises.

Sambo was said to have summoned Abba to explain the role of his men in the fracas after he (Sambo) had listened to the version of the incident as narrated by the principal officers of the House of Representatives elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.
